Today kicked

Literally!
I did 20 min cardio with Turbo Jam,
Then did the 40 min Turbo Sculpt
Boy I felt awesome all day!!

I really want to become a faster runner.
I start next week trying to improve.
Researching the different ways will be cool.
I don't need to be speedy gonzalez,
Just faster than my pace now.

Signing out.

Week in review

I've lost my mojo.
You know, the exercise mojo.
It's awesome when you're on it and it's easy to get out
that door to do the work you want to do.

I'm happy to say I have been giving myself mental pump-ups
to keep the mojo going.
I have been able to only work out 3 times this week.
But hey, I was able to work out 3 times this week!

The re-did the sidewalk for my usual run and
how dorky is it that I can't wait for the run today
to experience the new sidewalk!

To next week... I wish myself and anyone exercise mojo happiness!

Review of last week

Last week went pretty well.
I shot for working out 6 days,
and I worked out for 4 of them.
I clocked 12 miles total for the week
and feel good about what I did.

Well to be honest I wasn't feeling good about what I did.
But I am working on being proud of the times
I do get a work out in,
and also being ok with the times I relax and have down time.

Exercise to me is a joy and something I look forward to.
I never want to do it if I hate it.
Like today,
I was feeling sick and had a headache.
I usually don't force myself to workout,
but I am glad I did today.
My mood improved, I feel better,
and now I don't have to feel guilty about
the ice cream I had for a late night snack!

The training begins

This weekend I signed up for the SLC half marathon.
It will be my third time running this race,
and I am excited for this one because I am running with my eldest brother.

The training officially begins this week.
I am so glad to be in a training program again.
As much as sometimes it is hard to stick to a schedule of exercise,
I crave the consistency.
Today I completed my 4 miles.
It felt good and I stayed within my usual time frame

I am not shooting for a personal record this race,
since my only goal is to run and finish this race with my brother.
But my goal leading up to this race is to condition myself better.
I want to become faster and stronger
and I hope that I can be diligent in doing so.
2011 is going to be one awesome running year!

FINALLY!!

I have been battling this wretched cough for 3 weeks now.
It's the deep chested nasty cough that
whenever I am out and about and cough I get the crustiest looks.
So I thought to stop exercising to help my body recover.
After two weeks of no exercise I am done.
I still have my cough and I don't care,
I'm jumping back on the working out train.

Today I will do Jillian 30 day shred.
I may add in a Turbo Jam cardio as well,
just depending on how bad I am coughing.

Working out truly is so awesome!
Nothing is better that a good strong workout.
Watch out... here I come!

Where does time go?!
I can't believe I haven't posted in a month.
Shame on me.
Running has been good.
I got back to my 6 mile runs.
Then I got sick.
Bronchitis sick.
And haven't been able to run for almost 2 weeks now.
I can't wait until I am finally over this,
hopefully next week.
It will feel so good to hit the roads again!!

I went to a bootcamp on Thanksgiving morning.
Something about working out on Thanksgiving that
makes that day even more fun to eat all the yummy food!
I'll be back to running next Monday!
I can't wait!

Great article

A great article on running I found today.
I enjoyed reading about the little things
to do to help make running better.

Whoops

Didn't realize I haven't written in so long.
Running has been going well.
I am surprisingly working myself back to a constant run.
I want to have the weekly schedule of 4, 6, 4, every week.
With other strength and cardio workouts as well.

I want to be strong.
I want to be a faster runner.
I want to conquer exercise
and make it a part of my life that is constant.
Balance is good. I like it.

First one back

Today was the first run since my marathon.
I was nervous.
I don't know what for,
I was only running 3.5 miles, not 26.2!

It went surprisingly well.
I felt good.
I did feel a little sluggish.
And I did a lot of hills.

Every time I ran up a hill all I could
envision were all the hills during the race.
I wanted to beat the crap out of the hills.
Then I felt something in my shoe
that I for sure thought was my toenail.
Good thing it was only a band-aid!

I'm excited to get re-conditioned in running again.
Hopefully getting new shoes soon,
and I am going to start pushing myself.
Maybe even plan a fake race for myself.
A half marathon the day after Thanksgiving.
Something to look forward to,
and burn off the yummy Thanksgiving feast.

Sweat sweat sweat

We live in a tiny cottage.
And when I work out it turns into a gym.
Or at least smells like one.
HA!

I should have looked at my schedule
because I did the 20 min Turbo cardio,
and the Jillian DVD today.
40 minutes of excercise.
Then a bike ride to the post office.

As much fun as I had being super lazy,
it made me feel so crapy.
Nothing feels better than to sweat!
