Change of pace

This blog was set up for the Forrest family for running inspiration and training tips and such, but since it has not been used that way AND since Gary has already made a way cooler website that is exactly that, I am going to take over this blog and turn it into my own history and accounts of my running, and hopefully soon my triatholon training!

There are only 2 more Saturdays left for long runs before the big Golden Leaf Half Marathon. I am feeling ready for it, a lot more ready than I was for the Salt Lake Half. I am glad Kellie and I are on the same schedule and run about the same, it sure will be nice to run with her for this race. The big 11 miler was this past Saturday and I am quite impressed with myself for finishing it! Yes granted I had to take a breather here and there and had quite the side ache once, but I did it. I ran along the Draper Trail and this trail would be a lot better for shorter runs. It is only 4 miles long so I had to do some switch backs to increase my mileage.

I am not a lover of running quite yet, but that is my goal. I am starting to enjoy it more and more as my body gets stronger and adapts to the longer energy requirements. My body is use to dance which is short energy required, but this running thing has been fun trying to conquer it. I love the challenge of completing miles. I love the way I can feel which way the wind is blowing and where the sun in shining. Sooner than later I am going to be a lover of running, but right now I sure do enjoy it!
